Rams take on Fightin’ Chickens on TV!
NEWARK, Del. - PETA officials better not turn on the TV set on Sunday afternoon as the “Lady” Rams head north to the First State to take on the Fightin’ Chickens of the University of Delaware in the first televised game for the Black & Gold this season. It can be seen as the channel formerly known as CN8, now known as the Comcast Network.
If your an NBA fan, then you might not want to watch this one because it will feature something that you won’t like… it’s called defense. Delaware (55.0 ppg) is tops in the league on the defensive side, while VCU (55.1) is just one-tenth of a point off that average in second place.
The Rams will have a difficult task ahead of them as they found out late Friday that they will be without the services of junior D’Andra Moss for the rest of the year after she tore her ACL and meniscus during the home win over UNC Wilmington Thursday. She’s really a great kid who has been in so much hard work and become the real vocal leader of this year’s squad.
Now on to the team from the First State, the home state of Yours Truly. Great state, The Small Wonder… and it’s the truth. Good things come in small packages. That’s what I heard at least. Anyway, sophomore tandem of Tesia Harris and Vanessa Kabongo are combining to average close to 25 ppg and lead a offense that will lull you to sleep and then drive right past you. It’s a very tough team, can’t sleep on them. Plus the Rams have won just once in seven tries at the Bob Carpenter Center.
For your pre-game entertainment, we’ve included gone double-duty with a video and a pre-game song. As a Delawarean myself, it pains me to post it, but it’s a classic movie clip… so here ya go. As I searched for the perfect song to use, I stumbled upon this beauty from Uriah Heep… because the Rams are looking to Stay On Top of the CAA Standings.
