Teal Appeal
For the most part, basketball season is a blast. However, there are those days where it grinds. The lines between games blurs, hotels all look the same and the pregame pizza could be from Papa John’s, Papa Ginos, Little Caesars or Julius Caesar and nobody would know the difference.
Tonight, as I willfully chew on a couple of slices of cheese pizza, pregame music washes over me. I have a brand new fear that all those Britney Spears songs I keep hearing are going to invade my brain. I’m worried that one day, I’ll walk into the arena and start singing along. What a dark, dark day that would be. Say a prayer for my ears.
It’s VCU-UNC Wilmington distaff basketball tonight. I know this because the Seahawks’ Teal uniforms won’t let me confuse them with anyone else. They look like a farm team for the 1993 Florida Marlins.
The Rams (13-6, 6-1 CAA) are looking to maintain a hold on first place in the CAA, while Wilmington (6-12, 1-6 CAA) would just like a win any way they can get one.
