RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Cross Country has been selected as a recipient of the NCAA Public Recognition Award the league announced Thursday.
This honor is awarded to teams with an NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports based on the APR data released in May 2019.
The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams. The rating helps to hold institutions accountable for academic progress through a team-based metric that accounts for the eligibility and retention of each student-athlete for each academic term.
VCU concluded its 2018 campaign at the NCAA Southeast Regionals where senior Emily Mulhern (Ijamsville, Md.) lead VCU with a top-30 finish at the meet.
