RICHMOND, Va. – Jody Rogers was named Coach of the Year for the second time in three seasons, and five VCU players earned All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors, including three First Team selections, the league announced Thursday.

Rogers, in her seventh season at VCU, led the Rams to their third straight A-10 regular season championship in 2019 with a perfect 14-0 league mark. The Rams are 23-5 overall and have won 17 straight matches. She is 148-69 at VCU, including 72-17 the past three seasons.

VCU seniors Jasmin Sneed (San Antonio, Texas), Jaelyn Jackson (South Chesterfield, Va.) and Vicky Giommarini (Rome, Italy) were all selected All-Atlantic 10 Conference First Team. Senior Gina Tuzzolo (Newport News, Va.) received Second Team honors, as well as an All-Academic Team nod. Junior Paula Neciporuka (Kuldiga, Latvia) was also named to the All-Academic Team.

Sneed collected First Team honors for the second consecutive season. A 6-foot middle blocker, she leads the country in blocks per set (1.61), and earlier this season, she became VCU's all-time leader in blocks. Sneed also leads the A-10 in hitting percentage (.395) and averages 1.76 kills per set. She earned an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention citation in 2018.

A graduate transfer from Baylor, Jackson has made a splash for VCU in 2019. She ranks 12th nationally in blocks per set (1.42) and is also averaging 1.90 kills per set. Jackson's .359 hitting percentage ranks third in the league.

Giommarini has earned a First Team selection for the first time after she led VCU with 301 kills during the regular season, an average of 3.04 per set. The senior from Rome, Italy is hitting .202 and has provided 2.09 digs per set, as well as a team-best 35 service aces.  The outside hitter was named All-Atlantic 10 Second Team the past two seasons and was an All-Rookie Team pick in 2016. Giommarini was also the MVP of the 2017 Atlantic 10 Tournament.

Tuzzolo received an All-Conference Second Team honor for the second straight year. The senior opposite is hitting .291 and has supplied 2.60 kills and 1.06 blocks per set. Meanwhile, Tuzzolo was named to the A-10's All-Academic Team for the third straight year. The exercise science major carries a 3.824 grade point average and has earned multiple Dean's List citations.

Neciporuka was also tapped for the All-Academic Team. The junior outside hitter boasts a 3.942 GPA and is majoring in health science.

VCU is currently preparing for the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Kingston, R.I. The Rams, the No. 1 seed, will take on either George Washington or La Salle on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 4:30 p.m. in the semifinal round.
