The short story: Redshirt senior middle blocker Jaelyn Jackson (South Chesterfield, Va.) was a force for VCU on Sunday with eight kills and seven blocks to lead the Black and Gold to its 15th straight victory.

OPENING VOLLEY

  • Jackson hit .538 in the match on 13 attempts. She was one of four VCU players with double-digit attempts to hit .375 or better
  • VCU senior outside hitter Vicky Giommarini (Rome, Italy) led VCU with 10 kills and hit .389. She added two blocks, two aces and five digs
  • Junior outside hitter Paula Neciporuka (Kuldiga, Latvia) and senior opposite Gina Tuzzolo (Newport News, Va.) supplied eight and seven kills for VCU, respectively
  • Rhode Island's Hazel Brown led all players with 11 kills
