RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University junior Kristin Boyd (Wilmington, N.C.) was named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Offensive Player of the Week Monday. It's the career first weekly conference honor for Boyd, a 6-foot-2 outside hitter.

Boyd was a force over the weekend, leading the Rams to a victory over Towson Friday night before a loss to reigning CAA Champion Delaware on Saturday.
The junior averaged 4.88 kills per set and hit .272 in those two contests. Boyd also added 2.75 digs and 0.75 blocks per set for the Rams. In VCU's match with Delaware, Boyd ripped a career-high 22 kills and also set a personal-best with 13 digs.
Boyd has emerged as an imposing offensive threat this season. She leads VCU and ranks second in the CAA in kills per set (3.73) and is hitting a career-best .212. Only Ludmila Francescatto, who averaged 4.46 kills per set in 2006, has enjoyed a more prolific offensive season in school history than Boyd at her current pace.
VCU (9-13, 3-4 CAA) and Boyd return to the floor on Friday, Oct. 21 when they welcome James Madison to the Verizon Wireless Arena at 7 p.m.
