RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Track & Field head coach Jon Riley has announced the Rams 2019 Outdoor Track & Field schedule, highlighted by an opening weekend trip to Coral Gables, Fla. to compete in the Hurricane Invitational on March 15th-16th.

VCU Women's Track & Field will enter the Outdoor season coming off of their third consecutive Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship win. The Rams are in the midst of their 11th season under the watchful eye of Riley, who was named as the Atlantic 10 Women's Coach of the Year in his last season. Freshmen Amari Jackson (Triple Jump) and Shannon Moise (Shot Put) were each named to the conferences All-Rookie team following the Indoor season.

VCU Men's Track & Field enters the Outdoor season coming off of a third place finish in this season's Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship Meet. The Rams are in their ninth season under the direction of Riley, who has kept the team in constant contention since taking over the program in 2010. Freshmen Jaekob Vollbrecht (Shot Put) and Daiqwaun Faircloth (Hurdles) were each named as All-Rookie performers following the Indoor season.

Following their trip to Miami, the Rams will continue early season competition with back-to-back meets in Richmond, Va. including hosting the annual VCU Ram Invite on March 22nd-23rd. Following the Ram Invite, VCU will compete in the Fred Hardy Invitational on March 29th-30th.

The Rams will then travel to Jacksonville to participate in the North Florida Invite on April. 5th, before heading back to Fairfax, Va. for the Mason Spring Invitational.

VCU Track & Field team begins conference competition on May 4th-5th when Riley tries to lead the women's team to their third Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship in four years, and second in a row. Riley will also attempt to lead VCU Men's Track & Field to their first A-10 Outdoor Championship in his tenure. The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held in Austin, Texas on June 5th-8th.
