DIAZ-DELGADO DROPS SECOND ROUND MATCH AT ITA NATIONAL FALL CHAMPIONSHIP

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – Day two of the ITA National Fall Championship kicked off this afternoon with gorgeous weather in Newport Beach, Calif.

After a convincing first round victory, Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado was faced with a fierce opponent in round two. Diaz-Delgado took the court against Elysia Bolton of UCLA. Bolton garnered a preseason rank of 16 by ITA.

Diaz-Delgado battled back-and-forth with Bolton before dropping the first set 6-4. Bolton jumped out to an early lead in the second set and never looked back as she downed Diaz-Delgado 6-1.

The junior can now turn her attention to the spring season after a difficult fall schedule which saw her compete in the Oracle ITA Masters and ITA National Fall Championship. In addition, Diaz-Delgado placed runner-up in the ITA D1 Atlantic Women's Regional tournament after a 5-1 weekend.

The team will now start to prepare for their season opener at home against Temple on January 19.
