BLACKSBURG, Va. – As the fall season winds down, Paola Exposito Diaz-Delgado continues to improve on a stellar career.
Going into the final day of the ITA Atlantic Women's Regional, Diaz-Delgado was 4-0 after cruising through the early parts of the tournament. Squaring off in the semifinals with nationally ranked Natalie Novotna (72) from Virginia Tech, Diaz-Delgado made quick work of her opponent winning 6-4, 6-2.
In the finals, Diaz-Delgado faced a fierce competitor in Virginia's Natasha Subhash. After dropping the first set 6-2, Diaz-Delgado could not muster together a comeback as she fell 6-0 in the second set.
The junior is coming off one of the best seasons in school history in which she garnered ITA All-American recognition while placing herself second most in singles wins (38) in single season school history.
The Rams fall season continues as they travel to Wilmington, N.C. Nov. 1 through Nov. 3 to compete in the UNCW Invite.
