The short story: The top of the singles lineup carried the Rams to a 4-3 win over Cincinnati in non-conference action in a neutral site match hosted by Marshall.
OPENING SERVE
- The Rams took the doubles point with victories on Courts 2 and 3. Freshman Paola Exposito Diaz Delgado and sophomore Noumea Witmus defeated Antonella Bramato and Ali Miller 6-2, and freshman duo Sofia Sualehe and Marina Alcaide Bakkari defeated Alexia Coutino and Emma Miceli 6-3.
- In addition to winning in doubles, Diaz Delgado and Alcaide Bakkari both picked up singles wins. Diaz Delgado defeated Coutino 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Alcaide Bakkari defeated Caroline Morton at No. 3 singles 6-3, 6-4.
- Junior Anna Rasmussen rounded out VCU's scoring with a win at No. 1 singles over Ioana Guna by a score of 6-1, 6-2.
