RICHMOND, Va. – It's getting difficult to decide in which arena VCU Women's Tennis rising junior Janina Braun (Berlin, Germany) is most successful, on the court or in the classroom.
She chalked up one more point for the classroom this week when she was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the second straight year.
In order to receive an ITA Scholar-Athlete award, a player must be a letter winner, achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have been enrolled at their school for a minimum of two semesters.
Braun, who holds a 4.0 GPA and is majoring in Business, was also named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Most Outstanding Performer this spring, and was selected to the league's All-Academic Team.
The Berlin, Germany native crafted a 25-7 singles record in 2016-17 and is 41-11 in two seasons on the singles courts.
