  • The Short Story: For the third straight day, the VCU Women's Tennis team failed to drop a single match and rolled into the Atlantic 10 Championship with a 4-0 throttling of crosstown rival, Richmond, on Saturday morning. Junior Olga Terteac, sophomore Salome Kvitashvili and freshman Yukako Noi all claimed singles victories on the day.

How It Happened

  • Senior Josefin Hjertquist and sophomore Cindy Chala got things started for the Black & Gold with a decisive 8-2 win at the second doubles spot. Terteac and Kvitashvili wrapped up the doubles point for VCU with an 8-5 win at the third spot in the doubles lineup to give the Rams 1-0 advantage.
  • Noi quickly made it 2-0 with a dominating 6-2, 6-2 win over Richmond's Elizabeth Sims at #2 singles.
  • Terteac followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the fifth spot in the singles lineup, followed by Kvitashvili secured the victory for VCU with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at #4 singles.
