NORFOLK, Va. – For the 10th time in the past 11 seasons, the VCU women's tennis team will be playing for the CAA Championship.

That comes after the red-hot Rams rolled to an easy 4-0 sweep of fifth-seeded Old Dominion on Saturday afternoon in Norfolk. For the fifth time in the past seven years, VCU reached the 20-win plateau and now sits at 20-4 on the year after their 10th straight victory.

It was the youngsters who led the way for the Black & Gold with freshmen Salome Kvitashvili and Alena Gerasimova started the day by securing the doubles point for VCU with an 8-3 win at the third doubles position.

Fellow freshman Marketa Placha (pictured, right) picked up the first singles point of the day with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 win over Faith Atiso at the sixth spot in the Rams' lineup.

Kvitashvili gave VCU a 3-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Julian Pires at the five spot before Gerasimova locked things up with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Nika Khmolovska.

The Rams will now face third-seeded Georgia State in the CAA Championship on Sunday afternoon. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
