RICHMOND, Va. – There's nothing like being at home.

The VCU women's tennis team is proof of that as the Rams rolled to another home victory, 6-1, over Temple on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at the Thalhimer Tennis Center. The Black & Gold now sit at 11-4 on the year and have won 31 of their 33 home matches since the 2010 season.

VCU started the day by breezing to the doubles point thanks to 8-0 shutout victories at the top two doubles positions, led by the Bara sisters at the first doubles slot.

Senior Alex Bara kept the momentum with the Rams with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Alicia Doms at the second singles position. Freshman Salome Kvitashili brought VCU within one point of securing the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the fifth spot, before sophomore Olga Terteac locked up the win with a  6-0, 6-1 win at the third singles position.

Freshman Marketa Placha and senior Ana Bara also picked up singles victories on the day to wrap up a solid afternoon for the Black & Gold.

The Rams head west next weekend with two matches in Las Vegas, beginning with a Thursday afternoon showdown with the Rebels of UNLV. First serve is set for 1 p.m. EST.
