RICHMOND, Va. – VCU has earned the No. 2 overall seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament, the league revealed Sunday in its championship bracket. The Rams also earned the right to host an A-10 quarterfinal match-up at Sports Backers Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. against seventh-seeded George Washington.
VCU finished the regular season with a 14-3 mark, including a 9-1 record in A-10 play. VCU compiled 27 points in league play and trailed only top-seeded Saint Louis, which recorded a 10-0 record in A-10 contests. VCU's 14 wins are the second most in school history and are the program's most since the 2004 campaign.
The winner of Saturday's quarterfinal match will advance to the Atlantic 10 semifinals on Friday, Nov. 2 at 3:30 p.m against the winner of third-seeded Saint Joseph's and sixth-seeded Fordham.
