NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - VCU Lacrosse junior attacker Molly Barcikowski earned Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week honors after leading the Rams to two A-10 victories over the weekend, scoring six goals and adding two assists.
Barcikowski scored the game-winning goal in VCU's come-from-behind overtime victory at Davidson on April 15 and also eclipsed 150 career points, joining her teammate Sky Hyatt who became the first Ram to reach the mark on April 13. The two wins this past weekend have allowed VCU to extend its winning streak to four games.
Against George Washington, Barcikowski scored four goals to help VCU lead wire-to-wire in a 13-12 win over the Colonials. She added two goals and two assists in the win at Davidson as she scored the game-winning goal just 39 seconds into the first overtime period.
The win against the Wildcats gave VCU four wins in Atlantic 10 play, a new mark for the third-year program that has increased its conference win total each season. The award marked Barcikowski's second career A-10 Player of the Week award and the first this season.
