The short story: Atlantic 10 Conference points leader Molly Barcikowski and high-scoring teammate Sky Hyatt each notched goals, but it wasn't enough for the Rams Saturday in Norfolk.

THE DIFFERENCE

  • Old Dominion jumped out to a 4-0 advantage early, sparked by Connor Carson's three scores.

  • Barcikowski kept pace with Hyatt for the team lead in goals when she registered a score with 10:33 remaining.
  • The Lady Monarchs were otherwise in control and outshot the Rams 31-12.
  • ODU's Carson led all players with four goals.
  • VCU's Kelly O'Brien scooped up five ground balls and caused three turnovers to lead the Rams defensively.
