NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball freshman guard Tera Reed was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Rookie Team as announced by the league office Thursday morning.
Reed became the first freshman to lead the program in scoring since Quanitra Hollingsworth in 2005-06 and just the seventh freshman to achieve that feat in program history and she finished the regular season averaging 14.0 points per game. Reed is the first VCU player to be named to the A-10 All-Rookie team since Keira Robinson earned the honor in 2013-14.
Reed averaged 14.1 points per game during Atlantic 10 play as well and finished the entire 2017-18 season with an average of 13.9 points per game. Reed was named the A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week on Jan. 29 when she averaged 19.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds against La Salle and Richmond.
Reed led VCU in scoring in 17 of its 29 games this season and recorded four games of 20 or more points as well as four double-doubles. She also led the team in rebounding during A-10 play at 5.3 per game and ranked second on the team overall for the season with 5.8 rebounds per game.
