RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball guard Keira Robinson was named Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the week for her efforts on the court this past week.
The senior guard led the Rams in their two conference victories against Rhode Island on Jan. 18 and on the road at Fordham on Jan. 21.
Along with her leadership and balanced attack this season, Robinson continues to etch her name in the record book for the Rams. She recorded her 1,000th career point in a 61-58 victory on the at Fordham.
In the two victories last week, Robinson scored 26 points and contributed nine assists. She also collected 17 total rebound and hauled in a team-high 10 rebounds at Fordham on her way to a double-double.
Robinson has continued to be a defensive threat throughout the course of her career. She recorded seven steals this past week and currently sits in fourth place on the all-time steals list with 220. She ranks second in career assists (444) as well.
Despite all of her individual success on the court, the success of the team remains her priority.
"I want to continue to to lead the team, whether it be rebounds, getting people the ball or whatever I can to help the team win," Robinson said.
