RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball guard Keira Robinson was named Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts on the hardwood last week.
The junior from Columbia, South Carolina shined in two Ram victories, with one coming at Furman on Dec. 7 and one at home against UNC Greensboro on Dec. 11.
Robinson found ways to help the Rams all over the court against Furman, scoring nine points while coming down with four rebounds. She also came away with three assists and three steals.
After being on the road for two straight games, Robinson appeared to feel comfortable back at home in E.J. Wade Arena on Sunday. The Spartans from UNC Greensboro had no answer for Robinson, who led the Rams with 15 points and five rebounds.
Robinson, who leads the team with 13.1 points per game, is happy to see recent success and looks forward to facing conference competition.
"I feel really confident in how we're playing," Robinson said. "We're starting to play hard for 40 minutes. I think we are buying into that and playing together well."
