RICHMOND, Va. – Following a week in which she led VCU to a pair of conference wins, VCU freshman Keira Robinson (Columbia, S.C.) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Co-Rookie of the Week, along with Saint Louis' Erin Nelson. It is the fourth time this season Robinson has earned a Rookie of the Week honor.

Robinson, the Rams' starting point guard, filled up the box score last week, averaging 13.5 points, 8.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game. She provided 13 points, eight assists and five steals on Feb. 19 as VCU (21-7, 9-6 A-10) battled back from a 14-point halftime deficit to knock off St. Bonaventure 74-57. On Saturday, Feb. 22, she pumped in 14 points, dished out eight more assists and corralled eight rebounds in the Rams' 74-67 win over Saint Louis.
It was a week not unlike much of Robinson's debut season, which has seen her set a VCU single-season record for assists by a freshman, while directing the A-10's second-highest-scoring offense. Robinson's 179 assists this season rank third in school single-season history.
For the year, the Columbia, S.C. native is averaging 11.7 points, 6.4 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.
Robinson and VCU continue their breakout 2013-14 campaigns on Wednesday, Feb. 26 when they head across town to face Richmond at the Robins Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
