BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The VCU Men's & Women's Cross Country teams made the trek to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to compete in the 2011 Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University.

The Ram men finished in 43rd place out of 45 competitors, while the VCU women came in 45th place.

Junior Brenden Leavitt was the Rams top finisher for the men, as the Virginia Beach, Va., native crossed the finish line in 26:15. Leavitt finished 193rd out of a field of more than 400 student-athletes. Senior John Vial was the next highest finisher for the Black & Gold, crossing the finish line in 26:35.

On the women's side, senior Nicole Walters came in after 23:59 on the course, good enough for 267th out of nearly four student-athletes. Sophomore Anna Cole finished just three seconds later, finishing 270th.

The Rams will next be in action at the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia on October 14.
