RICHMOND, Va. – Three VCU Men's Track and Field athletes were honored by the Atlantic 10 on Thursday, when they announced their selections for the Outdoor All-Rookie teams. Daiqwaun Faircloth, Emmanuel Waller and Jaekob Vollbrecht each earned this distinction for the Rams after their strong performances during the Outdoor season.

Vollbrecht earned the honor after being named the A-10's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer for winning gold in the discus and silver in the shot put for VCU. The Spotsylvania, Va. native uncorked a toss of 49.89 meters on his fifth attempt to capture the discus crown. In the shot put, his heave of 16.87 meters on his second try was good enough to hold up for runner-up honors. Vollbrecht also garnered All-Rookie Team Honors following the Indoor season.

Faircloth, a freshman out of Suffolk, Va., was named to the team after placing second in the 110m Hurdles and third in the 400m Hurdles. He also competed on the 4x100m Relay Team that finished second with a time of 41.03. Faircloth was named to the All-Rookie Team in the Indoor season as well.

Waller, a freshman out Lynchburg, Va., capped an outstanding rookie season by running a personal-best 51.63 in the 400m Hurdles to win a conference title. Earlier this season, Waller was named as the Men's Rookie of the Week for winning the 400m Hurdles at the Miami Hurricane Invitational.

Coming off of a second place finish in the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship, the Rams will be back in action on May 12, when they host the VCU Ram Invitational at Sports Backers Stadium in Richmond, Va.
