The Short Story: VCU Men's Track & Field rounded out Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship weekend with a solid day two showing. The Rams (93.5) finished 3rd overall behind only George Mason (173) and Rhode Island (99), who finished first and second respectively. Senior Bashir Idris walked away with the Most Outstanding Field Performer Award for his weekend performance. 

How It Happened

  • Freshman JeVon Waller won the 60m Dash, posting a time of 6.86. Senior Jamik Alexander finished second in the same event, recording a time of 6.89. VCU would gain 10 and 8 points respectively for their finishes.
  • Freshman Jaekob Vollbrecht won the Shot Put, posting a throw of 17.09m to earn VCU 10 points.
  • Junior Ian Davis took home first place in the 60m Hurdles, posting a time of 7.94 to earn 10 VCU points
  • VCU's 4x400m Relay Team earned a second place finish after Chukwuezugo Aguolu, Emmanuel Waller, Nicholas Buckingham, and Ian Davis combined to post a time of 3:18.67. VCU gained 8 points for their finish in the event.
  • Idris finished second in the Triple Jump, recording a leap of 15.03m. The mark earned 8 VCU points
  • Xyan Xrichardson earned 6 VCU points after he placed third in the High Jump, posting a leap of 1.99m.
