- Senior Arvid Noren and Sophomore Inigo Torre Martin defeated Temple's Juan Araoz and Eric Biscoveanu to earn VCU its only doubles victory of the match
- Martin cruised by Noah Makarome in two sets which gave VCU its first point of the match in No. 4 singles
- Noren followed up his play in No. 2 singles to give VCU a 2-1 lead
- After losing the first set 6-1, sophomore Timo Zgraggen bounced back and swept Francisco Bohorquez to give VCU its third point of the night
