RICHMOND, Va. – Men's Soccer forward Luc Fatton was named Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance last week against Old Dominion last Tuesday, a game in which he scored three goals for the Black and Gold.
Fatton was also named Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts against the Monarchs, with all three of the goals coming within a six-minute span.
"I think everything came together in the ODU game," said Fatton, whose three goals on six shots helped launch the Rams to a 5-1 victory. "It was a complete performance from everyone."
Starting a long road trip on Saturday at Saint Louis, Fatton felt, "it was a great confidence booster" to get the big win at home against Old Dominion. Fatton had two shots in VCU's 1-1 tie against the Billikens.
The Rams open conference play at home against George Mason on Saturday. Fatton sees it as chance to start off strong in the conference and ride the momentum the team has gained in the past week.
"I think guys are starting to feel our potential and how well the team can play as a whole. It's starting to come together at the right time."
