RICHMOND, Va. – Men's Soccer midfielder Eli Lockaby was named Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance against #14 Akron in Akron, Ohio and at home on Saturday against George Mason.

Lockaby was in the right place at the right time all night against the Zips, helping his team hold Akron to zero goals and only five shots on goal.

"To come out at Akron with a draw is not bad," said Lockaby.  "They're a top team in the country."

He turned it on offensively against the Patriots of George Mason, assisting Jorge Herranz and Luc Fatton on the Rams' two goals of the night.  He also helped the Rams to their second straight shutout.

"The pride is in the zero," said Lockaby of the shutouts.  "We talked amongst the backline and said we need to take pride in not giving up goals.  We have given up too many goals this season and we needed to start shutting that down."
