RICHMOND, Va. – On the heels of VCU's second win of the season, a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference awards rolled in Thursday.

Senior Matt Ball Jr., whose play helped catapult the Rams to victory at the rain-soaked Whiting-Turner Towson Invite April 1-2, shared league Co-Player of the Week honors with Rhode Island's Joe Leavitt. Meanwhile, freshman Enej Sarkanj's top-10 finish earned him a Rookie of the Week award.

Rain washed out both the practice and opening round of the tournament, but Ball Jr. shrugged off the delay by shooting 74 and 75 on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, to finish 5-over. Ball Jr. tied for fourth overall as VCU outlasted a 22-team field for a 5-stroke win.
It's VCU's second win of the season, marking the first time the Rams have claimed multiple team titles since the 2008-09 campaign.
Sarkanj turned in one of the best efforts of his young VCU career at Whiting-Turner. The Maribor, Slovenia native was just a shot behind Ball's pace as he fired 76 and 74 back-to-back to tie for sixth overall.
VCU will return to action on April 11, when it heads to Wallace, N.C. for the River Landing Intercollegiate.
