RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Field Hockey had three players earn Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State Honors. Emily McNamara earned VaSID First Team All-State Honors for the third consecutive season while Maite Sturm and Shannon Pereira earned Second Team All-State for the first time.

McNamara adds to a long list of postseason awards including being named a NFHCA Second Team All-American, Synapse Sports Third Team All-American, the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year, NFHCA All-South Region First Team and All-Atlantic 10 First Team. She led the nation in goals with 27 and goals per game, scoring at a rate of 1.42 per contest.

Her average of 3.00 points per game ranked second nationally and her 57 total points on the season led the Atlantic 10. She set new school records for goals in a career, points in a career, goals in a season and points in a season as well in 2018.

Sturm led VCU with 11 assists, a mark that ranked her 3rd in the A-10 and 17th in the NCAA.  She also scored seven goals to give her 25 total points on the season, earning All-Atlantic 10 First Team honors. She also was named to the NFHCA All-South Region Second Team.

Pereira tied for second on the team this season with seven goals and also added five assists. After registering a total of 19 total points on the season, Pereira was also named to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team. She also earned NFHCA All-South Region Second Team honors along with Sturm.
