The Short Story: The Rams dropped their third consecutive Atlantic-10 match in Amherst, Massachusetts on Friday afternoon. The Minutemen took a 3-0 lead into the half and doubled their score in the second to make it a 6-0 final at Richard F. Garber Field.
How it Happened
- UMass jumped out to an early lead scoring their first goal less than two minutes into the contest. The goal would be all the Minutemen would need, as the VCU offense was unable to breakout.
- The Rams were outshot 16 to five with four of them coming from freshman Emily McNamara. The freshman leads the team in scores (6) and total points (17).
- Today's game we just didn't come out and play from the first whistle. We have to be much better in controlling the first ten minutes of games and we will be looking to focus on that in the future.
- The Rams will return home to host the North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday afternoon. Game time from Cary Street Field is scheduled for 2 p.m.
