How It Happened

  • Kendell Combs scored her sixth goal of the season in the sixth minute of the game to put the Rams ahead 1-0. 
  • In the 69th minute, Combs scored again to extend VCU's lead 2-0.
  • Goalkeeper Kendall Clifton had one save in the cage and recorded her first career solo shutout.

  • "We controlled the game well today against Towson," said head coach Laura Baker. "Playing a different surface is always a tough adjustment but we handled it well today and moved the ball around nicely. There are still parts of our game that we will need to improve for Sunday but we started off our weekend in the best possible way."
