Getting to Know: VCU Baseball Senior Matt Lees

"Getting to Know" is a weekly feature on VCUathletics.com that will highlight student-athletes from the 17 intercollegiate athletic programs that make up "Ram Nation."

Each edition, VCU Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant Blaze Byrd chats with selected student-athletes from various programs to get inside their world and let us know a little more about them.

This edition of GTK features senior Matt Lees of the VCU baseball team. The Richmond, Va. native has made 86 appearances for the Rams which has him tied for fifth in appearances in school history. As a junior, Lees logged 24 relief appearances as the Rams main closer and notched five saves on the season to move into fourth all-time in the VCU saves list with 18.

With the season beginning this weekend, Lees and his teammates are busy preparing for their tournament at Wake Forest taking place this Friday and Saturday. He was nice enough to take a few minutes with Byrd to give us a little more of an in-depth look at himself.
