VCU Athletics and VCU’s School of Business hosted four joint alumni events in Dallas, New York City, Atlanta and Philadelphia over the summer.

The goal of the events was to engage with alumni in various cities and have conversations about what is happening within each department. The turnout for each event varied from 25-50 guests who were able to meet with VCU Athletics staff members as well as representatives from VCU’s School of Business.

VCU Athletics was represented by Athletic Director Ed McLaughlin, men’s basketball head coach Mike Rhoades and Executive Associate Athletic Director Glenn Hofmann. VCU’s School of Business was represented by Kenneth Kahn, Interim Dean. The group was also joined in Atlanta by VCU Board of Visitors trustee and alumnus Keith Parker.

“It was an incredible opportunity for us to be able to visit with VCU alumni and to partner with VCU’s School of Business for these alumni events. We had a phenomenal turnout in each of the cities we visited and to get out into these communities to engage with VCU alumni,” said Hofmann.

The success of the events and the partnership is one that VCU Athletics will look to continue as the department continues its community outreach.
