Getting a little taste: The versatile McNamara made her collegiate debut on October 3, 2008 in a 1-0 victory at Georgia State. Overall, she saw action in five games in her first campaign with the Black & Gold. 

No Vertical Challenge Here: Listed at 5’8”, J-Mac as she is affectionately known, is one of the tallest players on the 2009 roster and will use her height to out jump the opposition for balls in the air.

Prior to VCU:

Class of the Commonwealth: The State Tournament was practically a guarantee for Frank W. Cox High School during McNamara’s tenure. The Falcons appeared in the Final Four of the State Tournament three out of her four years, and made appearances in the championship game two of those seasons. 

District Domination:  Along with being a top-level talent in the state, McNamara helped the Falcons to three consecutive Beach District Regular Season Championships (’06, ’07, ’08) and two Beach District Tournament Championships (’07, ’08)

Senior Spotlight: A four-year member of the varsity squad, McNamara used her final campaign as a breakout one earning All-State (Second Team), All-Region (First Team), All-District (First Team) and All Tidewater (Second Team) accolades.   
Never enough soccer: Along with her soccer at Cox, J-Mac was a four-year member of the Virginia Rush Nike Club Team as well as the Virginia ODP squad.

J-Mac or J.Crew?: One of her other postgraduate plans includes becoming a t-shirt designer
