Prior to VCU:

One Sport Can’t Hold Me: Although Hutchinson was mostly known for her talent on the soccer field, she wasn’t limited to that. She starred on the Titans girl’s basketball team for two seasons (freshman and sophomore years).

Thanks Mickey!: Hutchinson can somewhat thank Mickey Mouse and the Walt Disney enterprise for her rise to stardom as her outstanding play at the 2007 Disney Showcase in Orlando helped draw recruiting interest from George Mason, Syracuse and Towson, along with the Rams.

Nothing Going to Hold Me Down: Her outstanding high school athletic career was not an easy journey as she missed most of her sophomore season campaign due to an ACL tear.

Captaining the Ship: The powerful forward was chosen as the team captain of the Titans for her senior campaign

Star from the Start: Hutchinson became the only freshman girl in Dominion High School history to earn a spot on both the varsity soccer and varsity basketball squads.

So Hot In Here: In the off season, Hutchinson was a key member of the Loudoun Hotshots club team that reached the Virginia State Cup Final Four in each of the past four seasons.

Youth is Served: At the ripe age of 12, Hutchinson scored the only goal in a regional final to push her U-13 Team America club squad into the State Tournament, which they went on to win.     


Getting to Know Lauryn

No Name Tags Needed: Two of the current Rams will be familiar faces to Hutchinson, who played with Paige Pierson on the Loudon Hotshots and competed against Breiana White in high school. She lists Pierson as the best teammates she’s ever played with and White as one of the toughest players she’s ever competed against.    

The Next CSI Star: Hutchinson has an interest in the field of criminology and with goals of becoming a homicide detective

Karate Kid, Part IV?: One of Hutchinson’s jobs during high school was working at the Tiger Den Martial Arts Studio in Northern Virginia

Eatin’ Good in the Neighborhood: Another job that Hutchinson threw into the mix was being a waitress at Applebee’s.

Dancing Machine: Although Hutchinson's skills are still up for debate, she loves to watch good dancing on T.V., listing Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance?" as her favorite show.
