Prior to VCU:
En Fuego: Howard was a four-year member of Beach FC Fyre, a club team that captured the Virginia State Club Championship two years in a row (2003 and 2004)
Praise Around the Peninsula: The name ‘Cara Howard’ became synonymous with the First-Team All-Peninusla District almost immediately as she earned a spot on the squad during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. She also earned spots on the All-State squad during her sophomore and senior campaigns.
Hanging the Banners: Championships are nothing new to Cara who helped the Monarchs of Menchville capture four straight District Tournament Championships and earn a berth in the Eastern Regional State Semi-Final during her sophomore season.
Clutch Performer: Howard played a huge role in the run to the regional state semi-finals for the Monarchs, finding the back of the net during that contest to send the game into overtime
The Travel Bug: Howard was a two-year starter for the Virginia State ODP squad, including making a trip across the Great Pond to travel Europe.
I’m finally free!: Riddled by various injuries throughout her high school career, Howard lists staying injury free during her senior season as one of her top-five highlights from her time at Menchville.

The First Lady: Howard is busy around campus as well, serving as President of Gamma Theta Upsilion (The International Geographic Honor Society) and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
