Getting to Know Azania
Connecting the Dots: The global connections of Co-Head Coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak helped land Azania in the Black & Gold. Roberts Sahaydak along with her husband and Co-Head Coach Tim Sahaydak were looking to start a connection in the soccer powerhouse of Brazil and after Roberts Sahaydak spoke with Cici (a player on the Brazilian national team that she against) the VCU coaching staff headed to Brazil to check out the soccer club that Azania happened to be playing for. Since Azania was looking for a place to continue her studies, it was a perfect match!
Admiring Amanda: Asked about who she looks up to the most, Azania responded "Amanda Adams. She is the best example of commitment, respect and team chemistry I have ever had to the opportunity to play with, and she's funny. I feel privileged to be her teammate."
Brains Must Run in the Family: Not only is Azania an outstanding student, but her mother is a professor back in Brazil while her father serves as a herpetological lab technician.
