Member of Soccer Buzz’s Mid-Atlantic Region All-Freshman Team

While with the Rams

Cemented into the Lineup: Allen was impressive as soon as she stepped foot onto VCU’s campus starting in 17 of the VCU’s 19 games last year, only missing two due to competition with the U-20 Canadian National Team.

Crossing the Box: The Nova Scotia native made her offensive impact known early on as she delivered a beautiful cross pass to former Ram Stephanie Power for the second goal of a 3-2 VCU victory over Bucknell on September 14, 2008.

Connect Four:  Allen helped the Rams defense to four shutouts, three of which came during the conference season in wins over George Mason, Georgia State and Drexel.

Not Afraid to Unleash the Beast: Although the opportunities are few, Allen has shown the ability to unleash blasts from deep, registering nine shots last year, three of which were on target.

Prior to VCU

O Canada!:  Along with teammate Myriam Bouchard, Allen received an invitation to tryout for the U-20 Canadian National Team during the summer of 2008. She also earned invites for the U-15 and U-16 teams.

There’s a Buzz about her: Soccer Buzz ranked Allen as a top-25 international recruit coming out of Halifax

Presence in the Provincial: Allen helped the Warriors to two Division I provincial championships during her high school career.

The Chosen One: Chosen by her teammates, Allen served as team captain during her senior campaign and went on to earn the Team MVP award.

A Ram Beats a Jayhawk: Allen was recruited by many schools, but only VCU and Kansas brought her in on official visits. She chose to don the Black & Gold over the Blue and Red.
 

Getting to Know Molly

Choosing her own path: Four out of the five members of Allen’s immediate family attended Canadian Universities. Allen was the only one to leave the home country for further education.

Helping the Youth: Allen did not have to look far for summer jobs as she served as a coach and referee for youth soccer teams in the Halifax area.

Freedom, Freeeeedooom : While most students were busy enjoying the beach during their summer, Allen was busy playing for the Washington Freedom of the North American W-League, where she was a part of the Freedom's run to the Championship game where the Freedom earned a Silver Medal.
