POWER EARNS SPOT ON ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT THIRD-TEAM
Rams leading scorer also boasts 3.44 GPA in mass communications

RICHMOND, Va. – By just glancing over the stats for the Virginia Commonwealth University women’s soccer team, it is easy to notice that senior Stephanie Power (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) is one of the offensive leaders.

Her leadership does not stop on the field, however, as her hard work and dedication in the classroom has resulted in a spot on the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Third-Team.

Power is one of only five players in the CAA who earned the honor. Abbie Lauer of William & Mary earned First-Team honor, while Tribe teammate Danielle Collins was named to the Second-Team. The Hofstra tandem of Tiffany Yovino and Jess Crankshaw garnered Second and Third-Team accolades, respectively.

In the classroom at VCU, Power has posted a 3.44 cumulative grade-point average, while majoring in mass communications.

On the field, she has been just as outstanding with a team-leading 19 points on five goals and nine assists while battling injuries for the latter part of the season. For her career, she ranks sixth all-time in school history with 60 points and fifth in both goals with 21 and assists with 18.
