MOSS NAMED CAA CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University senior forward D’Andra Moss (Atlanta, Ga.) was named Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week on Monday for her performance in the Rams’ first three contests of the season.

Moss averaged 18.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game last week to help VCU to a 3-0 start for the fourth time in the last five years.

She scored a career-high 33 points with 10 rebounds to spark the Rams to a 75-68 double-overtime victory over Morgan State Saturday in the championship game of the Anaconda Sports “The Rock” SHU Classic.  Moss scored eight points in the second overtime period alone and hit a 3-pointer with 22 seconds left in the first overtime period to force the second OT.

Moss also registered 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting and grabbed seven boards in VCU’s victory against Arkansas State.  She added seven points and four rebounds in the Black and Gold’s season-opening win against Virginia Tech.

On the week, Moss shot .478 from the field and .417 from behind the arc, while hitting a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line.
