WHILE WITH THE RAMS:
● GETTIN’ DEFENSIVE: Watts added valuable depth to the Rams’ backcourt off the bench during her rookie season in 2008-09. She saw action in 14 games and is expected to play an even larger role this season because of her outstanding defensive presence.
● LANCER LOVE: In VCU’s home win against Longwood, Watts recorded a career-high five points in a career-best nine points (Dec. 28, 2008).
● IN THE BOOKS: Watts tallied her first career points (2), rebound and assist in a home victory over North Carolina Central (Dec. 21, 2008).
● INJURY BUG: Following a nagging foot injury, which caused her to miss three consecutive games from Dec. 3-15, Watts returned to the VCU lineup to play the final two minutes in a win at Radford (Dec. 19, 2008).
● DEBUTIN’ WITH THE DANES: Watts made her collegiate debut in the Rams win at Albany, tallying five minutes against the Great Danes (Nov. 29, 2008).
PRIOR TO VCU:
● HIGH SCHOOL LEGEND: Watts finished her four-year career at Thompson High School with a school-record 1,757 career points. She helped the Warriors win 72 games during her final three seasons and averaged 17.4 points per game during her senior campaign.
● CHARITY WORKER: During her final two seasons at Thompson, Watts earned all-state honors and shot 94 percent from the free throw line, helping her squad make back-to-back appearances in the area championship.
● DEFENDING THE NET: Watts was a two-sport high school athlete. In addition to her four years on the hardwood, she also played one season of volleyball for the Warriors.
