HOLLINGSWORTH, LYNX TELEVISED TONIGHT ON ESPN2
ATLANTA, Ga. – Former Virginia Commonwealth University women’s basketball star Quanitra Hollingsworth is getting accustomed to the national spotlight in her first season as a pro.
The ninth overall pick in April’s WNBA Draft, Hollingsworth will play in her first nationally televised contest tonight when the Minnesota Lynx face the Atlanta Dream at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
Hollingsworth has appeared in all but one of the Lynx nine games so far this season, averaging 13 minutes with 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest.
She’s played her best in two games against Seattle this year. In arguably her most productive outing of the season, the Chesapeake, Va., native scored a season-high nine points with four rebounds and a pair of blocks on June 12 against the Storm. She followed that performance hitting 7-of-8 from the free throw line with nine points against Seattle on June 19.
Winners of two straight, Minnesota is seeking its first playoff appearance since 2004 and is currently in second place in the Western Conference with a 6-3 record. |
