RAMS RELEASE LOADED 2019 SCHEDULE

RICHMOND, Va. – National Semifinalist BYU, road trips to Ohio State, Wichita State and North Carolina – as well as a competitive Atlantic 10 Conference slate – highlight VCU's 2019 Volleyball schedule, released Wednesday.

VCU, the two-time defending A-10 regular season champions, kick off their 2019 campaign on Friday, Aug. 30 against Texas Tech at to the Sports Imports Classic, hosted by Ohio State. The Rams will also hit the road for tournaments at Wichita State (Sept. 13-14) – where VCU will also meet BYU on Sept. 14 - and North Carolina (Sept. 20-21).

The Black and Gold will host their annual VCU Invitational Sept. 5-7 at the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. That field will include N.C. State, Alabama and UC Santa Barbara.

VCU will host NCAA Tournament participant High Point on Tuesday, Sept. 3 in its home opener. The Rams will also welcome intra-state foe Virginia Tech to the Siegel Center on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

The Rams kick off A-10 play on Friday, Sept. 27 against La Salle. VCU will also play host to Duquesne, Rhode Island, Fordham, Davidson, George Mason and George Washington in league action. The Black and Gold will head to Dayton on Nov. 17 in a rematch of the 2018 A-10 Championship Match. The Rams are 27-1 in A-10 play the past two seasons and won the league's 2017 tournament title.

Led by seventh-year Head Coach Jody Rogers, VCU is expected to return five starters from its 2018 club that finished 19-9, including 13-1 in the A-10.
