SNEED CLAIMS THIRD A-10 DEFENSIVE HONOR

RICHMOND, Va. – Jasmin Sneed is making a habit of this.

The VCU junior middle blocker was named the Atlantic 10 Conference's Defensive Player of the Week Monday for the third time in four weeks. It's Sneed's sixth career A-10 Defensive Player of the Week honor.

A native of San Antonio, Texas, Sneed averaged 2.00 blocks per set as VCU extended its season-high win streak to eight matches with victories over George Mason and George Washington over the weekend. She also hit .385 and averaged 1.57 kills per set. Sneed provided nine blocks in Sunday's 3-1 triumph over George Washington.

Sneed is currently ranked fifth nationally in blocks per set (1.61) and recently moved into second place on VCU's career blocks list.

VCU and Sneed return to the court on Friday, Oct. 19 when they head to Kingston, R.I. to face Rhode Island.
