RICHMOND, Va. – VCU, fresh of its first Atlantic 10 Conference Championship, is headed to State College, Pa. to face ACC Champ Pitt in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday at 5 p.m. at Penn State's Rec Hall.

The Rams (30-2), who own the nation's longest active win streak at 27 consecutive matches, will be making the second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. VCU also reached the NCAA Tourney in 2005 after claiming a CAA Championship.

VCU powered through a 14-0 A-10 slate behind the nation's No. 1 blocking unit (3.27 blocks/set). The Rams boast four All-Atlantic 10 First Team selections, including league Libero of the Year Rebekah Strange (Avon, Ind.).

The Black and Gold, led by fifth-year Coach Jody Rogers, have not lost since Sept. 1.

Pitt (25-6) claimed the ACC title with an 18-2 mark. The Panthers are led by sophomore right side Nika Markovic (3.93 kills/set) and sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Williams (3.30 kills/set).

Friday's winner will face the winner of a match between top-seeded Penn State and Howard in the second round on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Rec Hall.

All-session tickets for the first and second rounds are priced at $12 for adults and $10 for students and youth ages 12 and under. Groups of 20 or more may purchase tickets at a discounted rate of $8.

Single-match tickets will only be sold at the door the night of each match. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and youth ages 12 and under. Doors will open at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.
