RICHMOND, Va. – Four NCAA Tournament squads and three conference champions highlight VCU's 2017 schedule, released today. 

VCU, entering its fifth season under Head Coach Jody Rogers, will open its 2017 campaign on Friday, Aug. 25 when it meets Texas State at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station. The following day, the Rams will take on Sam Houston State and the host Aggies, who finished 15-3 in the SEC last season and earned an NCAA at-large berth.

The Rams will also play at Bowling Green and Toledo (Sept. 1-2), as well as Virginia (Sept. 8-9), in non-conference tournament action. VCU will host its own invitational, a tournament that includes Bowling Green, Seton Hall and Northwestern, Sept. 15-16 at the E.J. Wade Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.
VCU will open its home schedule on Tuesday, Aug. 29 when it welcomes longtime in-state rival William & Mary in non-conference action.
Atlantic 10 Conference play kicks off on Friday, Sept. 22 when VCU takes on Rhode Island at the Siegel Center. Home dates with Fordham, Duquesne, La Salle, Saint Louis, Davidson and reigning A-10 Champ Dayton are all on tap.
In addition to Dayton and Texas A&M, VCU will battle NCAA qualifiers High Point (Sept. 5) and Howard (Sept. 9) in 2017.

Duquesne and the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will play host to the 2017 Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament Nov. 17-19.
VCU returns all of its starters from the 2016 squad that finished 19-14 overall and 8-6 in the A-10, including All-Conference Second Team member Julia Adler
