SNEED EARNS CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU freshman Jasmin Sneed (San Antonio, Texas) was named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Rookie of the Week Monday. It's the second time this season the 6-foot middle blocker had pulled down the honor.

Sneed averaged 1.73 blocks per set in a 2-1 week for VCU. Against Norfolk State on Tuesday, she had seven kills and three blocks in a 3-0 sweep. She followed that performance with a career-high 12 blocks in a sweep over Fordham. She concluded her weekend with five kills and four blocks in a five-set loss to Rhode Island.

VCU has held its opponents to a .158 hitting percentage this season, the lowest in the A-10. Sneed is one of the big reasons why. She's averaging 1.19 blocks per set this season and owns a team-high 121 blocks. Sneed is also averaging 1.32 kills per set, while hitting .258.

Sneed and the Rams return to the floor on Saturday, Nov. 5 when they travel to Davidson for a 2 p.m. match.
