STRANGE NAMED A-10 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU sophomore libero Rebekah Strange (Avon, Ind.) has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Strange piled up 33 digs in two VCU matches last week and averaged a robust 4.71 digs per set. She dug 20 balls on Saturday, an average of 5.00 per set as the Rams toppled Davidson 3-1.

It's the first A-10 weekly honor for Strange, who is averaging a team-best 3.54 digs per set.  The sophomore has also chalked up 13 service aces this season.
 
Strange and the Rams will return to the floor on Friday, Oct. 16 when they head to Saint Louis for an 8 p.m. match.
