TALKING POINTS
  • Romana Kriskova unleashed 29 kills – half of VCU's total for the night – on William & Mary to lead the Rams to a 3-1 victory Tuesday night.
  • Kriskova matched her season high for kills, while hitting .305 with 11 digs. With those 29 kills, Kriskova moved into sole possession of third place on VCU's all-time kills list with 485. She trails only Ludmila Francescatto (549) and Jonnie Stone (513) in the Rams' single-season record books.
  • With the victory, the Rams have won 10 of their last 11 matches.
  • The Rams hit .243 overall and racked up 11.5 blocks. William & Mary, meanwhile, hit .154 with 9.0 blocks.
  • Redshirt freshman Kaitlyn LaMantia dished out a career-high 51 assists for VCU, while junior Amanda Love led four players with double-digit digs with 16.
  • Kalah Jones added 14 kills for VCU.
  • VCU hit .440 and .270 in the first and second sets, respectively, to charge out to a 2-0 match lead. The Rams' plans for a third consecutive sweep hit a snag in the third, however. In that frame, the Tribe briefly bottled up Kriskova, limiting her to six kills on 19 swings. But in the fourth, Kriskova smashed eight kills on 14 tries and ended any William & Mary comeback hopes.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
  • The victory marks the 10th time in program history the Rams have crossed the 20-win plateau.
  • VCU has played William & Mary more than any other opponent. With Tuesday's win, the Rams improve to 25-41 all-time against the Tribe.
  • Kriskova has supplied 20 or more kills in a match 10 times this season and she has also recorded 10 double-doubles (kills-digs).
