KRISKOVA PROVIDES OFFENSE IN WIRE-TO-WIRE VCU WIN

TALKING POINTS

  • Junior Romana Kriskova hammered 18 kills and six aces to spearhead A-10 leader VCU's sweep of George Mason Friday night.
  • Kriskova served up aces on three of the first four points as the Rams set the tone early and ran away from the Patriots. VCU hit .356 on the night and did not trail in any of the match's three sets. George Mason hit just .160 for the match.
  • Kaitlyn LaMantia set 37 assists for VCU's efficient attack. She also dug five balls and blocked four others.
  • Sophomore Kalah Jones spiked 11 kills and hit .280 for the Rams, while classmate Uzoamaka Ibeh supplied seven kills and hit .545.
  • It was VCU's second win over the Patriots in eight days. The Rams earned a 3-2 win in Fairfax, Va. on Oct. 11.
  • Now at the midpoint of their A-10 schedule, VCU maintained its hold on first place in the league standings. The Rams began the night a half game up on Duquesne.

  • Kriskova moved into fifth place on VCU's single-season kills list with 441. She trails Shannon McMeekin by 20 for fourth place. Ludmila Francescatto owns the all-time mark of 549, set during the 2006 season.
  • Kriskova's 39 aces this season are the most by a Ram since 2009.
  • VCU has now won four of its last five against George Mason.
